HELP! Timing tensioner promleb

I have my vc off and the old tensioner out, but I'm having a bitch of a time threading the new one in! It's the new style tensioner. Can anyone provide a suggestion?

You have to push against the spring pressure, it will compress slightly and the threads will grab. Don't be afraid to push it in while turning.
