Home made CAI

Well I got bored today and i got my new Engine damper so i had to put it on!
once on everyone knows you cant use the factory air box, well i have a bunch of charge piping fo rmy turbo so i thoguth well lets make a CAI
everything is there and ran fine, but for some reason my car does not like it..
like the air filter, the mass air flow sensor is all there... but is there a way where the mass air flow might be in wrong and that cause it to stutter?

BUT once its running it works great!

Reset your computer and it should be fine. I pulled mine out one day to do some custom fabbing and it did the same thing. Reset the computer and its fine now.

Simple fix, the Mass air flow sensor was in wrong, the little hole was not facing the air filter, blaming that on my brother

the pics!

wouldnt be worth the shipping to you from canada.
its easy to do, if you want i could send you a instruction list on what i did, and how much of each material you would need.
most expensive thing was the camps, i used some good ones and some shitty ones.
the good ones were $10.77 EACH

if you read any of my older posts on here you would known that i was in a car accident and smashed my intercooler along with my bumper, my new intercooler is way to big for my factory bumper so its all been removed.
engine has close to 80,000 KMs on it! and i work in construction.
dont you worrry everything will be different this winter when i strip the motor out

Exactly, that tubing is WAY to small... It actually might be hurting your HP to be honest...

just dotn tell me ur going to use that for your turbo set up, man i have a long as thread on my build, you see how you have yor maf, thats not going to work, the pressure will shoot that baby sky high...its not even bolted down, what you wantd to do is buy the ebay intake, that will set you up in the engine bay, cut the little curve at the end of it where the filter would go, and route that to your IC, that way everything no the cold side of the Ic is set, and just remember to use 4ply silicone with t clamps and your set...that or have a shop custom make you a MAF bung/plate, will end up being the same as buying the intake lol, but yeah do that, it will work out better that way

Im not trying to be a dick or be mean, but good god man you have to do something about how that maf is mounted. Thats just sticking in a rubber coupler isnt it?

exactly what i said, when ever he goes boost he needs that thing to be on securely, or self the pressure will blow it out and cause a massive leak, and with all the air escaping thru a hole that big it will cause problems in the engine, but i wont judge you until its done cus i know for n/a its not pressure sensative to have it bolted down

Mike, i forget his SN is turbo charging his SBOM 2.4 and he picked up a charge pipe kit on e-bay for the cobalts. It has a really nice maf bung welded in.

the charge pipe was from my friends teg.
the mas airflow is mounted in that rubber hose lol yes, its only temp, just wanted to see if i could make something that works, and it does, i do notice a little more gain with it witch is nice!
the shop who is doing my build has the Hahn intake pipe for me on order.
and reason why the cooler was mounted was so i could make all the cuts BEFORE painting the bumper, then smashed the car.

yeah he got the idea from me i posted about doin that in his thread, than i went and bought the intake when it was still in stock to do it all, but he is only using the maf part i was using the whole thing, if you look thru my gallery yu can get the idea of how i was going to use it...but in the gallery pics i was still using some pieced together crap, it was just the fitting pipes
