hp loss thru drivetrain/powertrain?!?
I dont know if this has been brought up yet or not but i am lost of this
Stock 2.2L ECOTEC - 136 HP @ 5500 RPM – Torque 139 lbf/ft@4000 RPM
Garrett Turbo Stage 2 – 198HP@5000 RPM – Torque 219 lbf/ft@4000 RPM
the stock numbers are only 9 hp and 16 ft lbs/tq loss thru a stock drivetrain/powertrain?
as far as i knew fwd loss was 10% with upgraded fly, and maybe some other mods and roughly 15-18% from factory, some i have seen 20% loss on dynos (friends cars and yes stock)
so therefore 145flyhp = 130.5fwhp at best, 123.25-118.9fwhp with the normal 15-18% loss
AND
to have 155flytq = 139.5fwtq at best (matches garretts dyno), 131.75-127.1fwtq with the normal 15-18% loss
this just makes me wonder if gms ratings arent exact but just an estimate from the cavy to the balt (since the balt has no power steering pump, its electronic) or was garretts dyno not accurate?
now i bring this up because i took a second look at those wheel numbers and thot they were a lil too high for how much they claim from the motor...
i saw a post on here before that cobalts are 15% (cant remember where, if someone knows please post) but that would put us at 123.25whp/131.75wtq not the 136/139 garrett posted on their dyno. so is it gm or garrett that is off?
anyone with any input please... i just posted this for a conclusion and i know i will be corrected with something i posted so please correct me
so somebody please explain this to me or does anyone have a dyno of a stock 2.2?

yea, thats what i thot. i just kept thinking that if garrett were right we would have more hp/tq than what gm is claiming and that would be nice but i doubted it being true lol
136whp = 156.4flyhp with 15% loss and 139wtq = 159.85flyhp if you use garretts numbers. i mean its not a dramatic difference 11.4hp/4.85tq but hey ppl buy cai to get that lol
and whose to say if they are high balling the stock numbers that they couldnt highball the turbo kit numbers... even tho i talked to adam hahn and he said that the turbo numbers seemed low

hmm... did it say how much he had at the fly?
i believe it, but with my friend not having a power steering pump in his civic he gained about 8hp/9tq to the wheels and that made me wonder...
what did he run in the 1/4? he ever run it?

He never ran it in the quarter, it got totalled a few months back.
I was slightly mistaken it was 133/139, here is his thread & video about it:

I'm trying to get my Dyno Data files back but when I had them done (prior to cpu crash) back in 05 with my balt completely stock (right off showroom floor) it was 131whp/137tq. I just got a bunch of stuff installed and I'll try to get a dyno next week. I wanted to do a piece by piece dyno and install, to see the value of each piece, but at $60 a shot, I just didn't have the money to do it.

hey REIGN i honestly think that these numbers are low for MY car... my buddies civic dynoed 121.53/128.34 and he cant keep up with me for **** and hes a damn good driver (autox with me) so im gonna have a friend take my car to the dyno (hybridynamic www.hybridynamics.com) and see what itll put down... and i havent put an intake/exhaust or any lil bolt on to add hp/tq to my car... yet
ill videotape it too

$60 damn, i dont think there is anywhere near me that is that cheap. i think just to get on a fwd dyno is minimum $100 plus you have to pay an extra of the time that your on it so maybe like $150 at the minimum around me (as far as ive seen)
Also, temperature and pressure changes can have a dramatic effect. And different dynos give different results. There are a lot of variables.
they are normally a $95 but I run a job placement division and we did some recruitment work for a shop that does dynos up here last month and the guy is cutting me a deal.. I'm actually going next week...
