I'm in need of a fuel filter..?

Changing my fuel filter. I've got 21,000 miles with a pretty raunchy idle and the last thing I haven't checked is my fuel filter, and since I work at a Ford dealership, I get discounts at the Chevrolet dealer down the street because they go through the same parts people, so I figure I may as well change it.

I'll have an update sometime tomorrow to let everyone know how it went and more importantly, if it fixed my problem.

Update: I'm at 21,000 miles right now and for those of you with the 2.2L who are considering doing this, get your ass to the store and pick up a new fuel filter. Mine was definitely clogged a fair bit. I felt like I regained some power I lost.

110% worth it.

I paid $50, and that was discounted.

Arm and a leg, I know.

PAHAHAHA!.. Sadly, yes.

Clean TB. Clean MAF. Clean air filter. Plugs are clean with proper gap. New fuel filter.

I'm at a ******* loss..

i've got a hic up at idle, runs fine then goes super lean, i'm suffering with this now. i'm sure it's the injectors. i swapped out the icm after a few p0300 codes started showing up. the new icm keeps my car from dying when it runs uber lean but i'm still on the stock tb and stock inj. right now, but no more idle misfires.

Damn, I'd be a happy man if I knew the problem with my car, because as of now, 2 different dealerships can't even figure it out.. And what's the ICM? Idle control motor?

ignition control module. the little deal with the heat sink on top of the coil pack. your car lacks that specific device, shadow.

Yeah, but I honestly didn't feel like waiting for shipping, I wanted it right then and there. I guess that's where the extra $13 comes from, having it in stock and being able to pay for it and leave.

i know mine is running lean cause of the wb i installed. it leans out real bad sputtering a little and rough as all get out then it revvs up on it's own running rich and settles back down. sounds like i'm being a dick and revving at cars sometimes, ****'s annoying as hell.

Yea i use my wideband and it goes lean for a few seconds and slightly sputters nut then goes back to normal. I might just replace my fuel filter and see what happenes from there. I am running the GM stage 2 tune on a 2.9 inch pulley but i dont think that is the problem.
