Intake Manifold Options

OKay so an obvious bolt on mod would be a 2.4 manifold but are their anyother options such as a saab intake manifold? Or does the 2.4 surpass everything?

if ur just running an intake and exhaust but no engine work , get the 2.4 manifold. If your going to be doing some advanced engine work like cams, more compression, bigger injectors, then go with the vulcan manifold. The vulcan is a GM short runner design that will let a lot more air in but you will lose alot of low end torque. It really depends on if ur racing all the time and constantly have it at 6 grand or if your just drivin on the streets.

vulcan is complete bolt on, no modding required for a 2.2/2.4 ecotec...its a good high flow manifold, made mostly for boost applications, but can also be used for a n/a needing more air flow, say some bigger cams that coudl take advantage of shorter runners and a bigger collector/plenum...w/e u wanna call it...lemme know if your interested in one, i'll post a pic of what it looked like installed on my 2.2

^^^ re uses the same gaskets from the stock one

There is plenty of room for a intake..I used the injen short ram pipe as a cold air for the Vulcan, very easy to do...

so with the vulcan intake mani, what intake do you use? do you HAVE to reloate it to the other side? could they manucature one upside down basically so the intake drops onto the stock side????

yeah he's right, i've removed my air box and the air tube that goes from it to the air pump at the bottom a long time ago (almost 55,000 miles ago now), and that vulcan intake mani just moves the throttle body to the right like the supercharger and the only thing that worries me is your gonna need to relocate the washer fluid reservoir to fit the air intake down that hole....

no u wont, u dont see how i ran my intake? if you have a intake now, its reusable on the vulcan manifold, i used my injen intake in those pics, washer resevoir was never touched, but a LSJ intake would also work, and just relocate the washer resevoir to the other side like the LSJ, w/e way u want to go with

so your saying if i put the vulcan on I just move the tb to the right side of the intake and put my SRI on the other side? Def wont have to move the resovoir? Do you have a link to that manifold because I think they only show the manifolds for F/I applications

yeah i reused my injen intake, the intake drop directly down behind ur fan....or u could get a LSJ intake and move your washer fluid, its up to u which way u wanna go
