I decided that this car will only go fast with turbo or sc and thats to much ******* money for a 16year old that has to use his own money. Me and my buddy are going to either build go karts or mini bikes. Probally mini bikes they are easier and tons of fun road on one a year ago and was a blast and I could customize that **** and have tons of fun for way cheaper than a turbo. Thanks for all the help though and I will definately keep this thread in mind if I find 3000 dollars just sitting in the street some day.

nothing good in life comes quick or cheap. everything you have to work and save for. its life. if you want something real bad you have to wait and save.

i get wat youre sayin and there was times when i was like "damn maybe i shoulda just bought the kit". but it was a im screwed either way situation, i had to either find the parts piece by piece and look like hell to find them and when i found them i had the money or i had to save the money for a long time then empty out my bank account for it and be back at square one wit a little money in the bank

You can build a mini bike for under 200 easy if you scrub out and do it all yourself. I just bough one last night for 200 already built and im just going to customize it. Has a 5hp motor and so much low end torque its not even funny. I just need to set up a new brake system cuz the one it has is about as safe as driving a smart car 100mph into a wall. Then im going to build a new seat becuase the current one sucks. Give it a new paint job, maybe a new clutch and I will be going fast as hell. It gets up pretty quick I would say at least 25mph right now maybe faster I didnt have a helmet and the brake doesnt work the greatest so I didnt want to give it full throttle.

So far only having it one night its been fun. You can do alot to them. I just bought it for something to do even though they arent street legal. For 200 and then around 40 for a new braking system because I dont trust the current one and a racing clutch for like 60 and a fresh paint job and it will be looking sick.

made a good choice not turboing the cobalt right now, you really have to pay to play with these cars. gl with the minibike, they are fun. personally idda gone with the go kart.

I would do a gokart but they are harder to build if you dont know what you are doing and are aobut twice as much money to but they are fun. If I didnt have to pay 800 in insurance this month I would have bought this 9hp engine for 200$ and started a gokart build. I also dont like gokarts because if you are riding in the streets they sit so low and its harder to see you than riding on a mini bike.

Also since it was my first mini bike I think I got ripped off a little because the brake doesnt even work. It is a foot pedal brake and the pedal hits the ground before the stopper touches the brake lol. So I just need to get a tighter spring to bring it closer from the ground and saw it down and re attach the pedal higher up.

sux about the insurance payment coming right now, but its important. and all i gots to say is gokart+rain=win theres no mini bike fun that can match sliding around neighborhood streets in the rain.

Lol true. So far the only troubles im having with the bike is the chain comes off about every 5 minutes so I need to either take a link or 2 out or buy nice new chain and maybe a chain guard. My other problem is I always burn my leg on my clutch or muffler when im putting the kickstand up because I wear shorts and I do it on the hard side lol instead of the side with nothing hot. But im loving it. Got my brake fixed but not completly, still needs some work because it takes way to long to stop.
