L61 Low Psi turbo w/ stock Fuel System?
I was wondering if anyone has actually tried running an L61 with a turbo or s/c setup with the stock fuel system, starting with a very low boost pressure and gradually adding more to see at what point the stock fuel injection system fails to provide a correct mixture. I would think that, being an air mass system (as opposed to speed/density), you would be able to run at least a couple pounds of boost without any problems. Who knows, maybe you could get away with running 5 psi or so with nothing more than a rising-rate fuel pressure regulator. If anyone knows of any testing like this that has been done, I'd love to hear about it.

There is only one forced inductino kit out there at the moment for our 2.2L and thats the Alpine turbo kit. They've got it running 8 psi on stock everything.

Theres the link to the many page thread on what it all is.

Info on this kit. Its not CARB certified but will pass emissions.

I think I might of answered ur question wrong, if i misread please feel free to call me retarted

actually the stock injectors will only flow for 5psi at max flow.. there using a 5th injector system that is powered and tuned by a piggyback smt-6 on there turbo applications.. the stock ss/sc injectors should fit and when a tune is released for the 2.2s just watch for the number of boosted L61s raise

The smt-6 reads boost through a sensor, and controls the pulse width of the extra injector according to amount of boost. So it actually performs fuel management incrementally as boost increases. It also modifies timing incrementally. This gives the best, safest control.
John at Alpine Developments has designed multiple factory turbo systems, including ones used by Toyota in the South African market. I trust his designs - they are virtually "factory equipment."
