a little decision making help.

Alright ive been thinking about ordering a header, downpipe and catback.

I wanna know what the best sounding and performing combination is.

I would also like to know if there is any noticable gains? im not expecting much.

And while ive got some attention, What are some things i can do to gain power without doing anything major. thought of maybe superchargingl..but damn thats a little much when i could get a ss/sc for pretty cheap.

All opinions welcome..and thanks in advance!

Honestly, if you want that power it's going to be cheapest and easiest to sell your car and pick up a LNF.

If you want to keep this car however, I would recommend ZZP for your header and downpipe. Nitrous is cheap power as well, but your internals aren't going to handle too much, maybe a 75 or 100 shot max.

its still not going to be fast with full boltons so i would just save your money. save up and get a ss/tc, you can get one with under 50k miles for 14k or less nowadays

so no real power gains can be achieved without doing something that would cost to much money and really be useless when i could probably trade my car in on a ss/sc and not owe much? i mean its paid for its in great condition and it only has 20,000 miles.

lol youve got me thinking.

Do bolt ons and throw a nitrous kit with a 75shot, you'll have the power when you want it, just don't always be pushing on the nitrous.
Or save up and do a SC set up, if you like working on cars a build can be fun.

that is exactly right. the l61 (your motor) does not take well to bolt-ons in any terms. some characteristics of it:

low compression
no vvt
plastic intake manifold (no porting)
head that doesnt flow well

without higher comp. pistons, cams, better im, built valvetrain, and a ported head plus all the bolt-ons, the car will never make you smile when you put your foot on the gas, thats why nobody on here has achieved 200 whp or even 190 afaik. i used to have a 2.2 and went through the same thing, if you want a quick car just sell yours and buy an sc or tc. those cars were made with performance in mind and you should still be able to get a decent amount for your car with gas prices how they are.

also nitrous can be very harmful if not properly tuned for. also, the most annoying thing is refilling the tank all the time if you actually want to enjoy it. even with bolt-on and nitrous, your automatic will merely keep up with an sc. if you want more speed, sell your car and get a real ss or another car cough rwd cough
