Hello boys...had a question on what intake do you guys think gives the most whine on a 2.2?? Considering i have noooo aftermarket exaust...so keep that in mind

WILL be purchasing an inake within the end of this month...

About the same I'd guess. They all produce a lot of sound. Even my ebay intake is loud

 

Youre not gonna get much whine without a supercharger.

 

you need a blower to get whine... a lot of the guys on here like the injen though

Just pick one. Any will give you the desired effect.

 

my K&N made a deffinate difference in the sound of the 2.2. and i mean in a good way:

 

GMPP intake is pretty mild, I don't think you'd want it.

 

any intake will all you have to do is install an M62 right after it or.......

ive seen videos with that turbo sound thing in the tail pipe. its funny as hell!

 

I have had Fujita, GMPP, stock with a K&N and hands down my AEM is the loudest I have had

 

I think the k/n typhoon intake is the best. It will give your ecotec a nice growl. Heres a vid that another cobaltss member did to show what it sounds like.

All give about the same. theres lil to no difference with each on sound. i have a cheapy and it sounds awsome. think most are 3" pipe right? so they all are going to suck in the same amount of air.

Injen or weapon R might be just a lil better though.

My fujita was nice and quiet.

You should already get a whine. I noticed on my 2.2 at full throttle I had ppl think I was supercharged because of the throttle being WOT.

 

I'm diriving my buddies SS/na and its got a GMPP on it and you can hear it pretty good... the gmpp is going on my car after we do the supercharger build on his car this friday

All intakes basically sound the same. None are gonna be too noticeably loud than one another.

Plus, once you get a full exhaust setup, you likely will never hear your intake again, lol. In fact, I recently helped NamedGobalt do his full exhaust.....full Vibrant 3"....way loud....then a few days later we put an Injen CAI on it......and we've yet to even hear his intake thanks to his exhaust, lol. Same goes for me car......exhaust noise > intake noise.
