lowering kit

is there really any difference between the cheaper, affordable kits and the expensive kits? somebody told me the cheaper kits will have a rougher feel to it than the more expensive ones.. is this true? if so, will it really effect anything?

You get what you pay for.

Eibach Sportlines have been proven to be quality springs for the Cobalt.

I paid around $250 bucks for my Sportlines.

Best bang for the buck IMO. Best springs on the market for these cars.

Yep! And they will give you an even bigger drop than the SS because the initial height is higher on the 2.2.

Pro kit doesn't drop a ls/lt that much around inch IIRC, but the car will handle a lot better from them.
