i have the lsj dp on my 07 auto w/ sai with a magna flow cat back and v2 header it was a little short but it just squizzes together its a tight fit but it doesnt rub or rattle

This is definitely an area 2.2 owners need to be aware of. The SAI equipped 2.2 cars have a different DP than non-SAI 2.2s:

07 Manual Equipped 2.2 non-SAI DP/Cat PN 15873731
07 Auto Equipped 2.2 non-SAI DP/Cat PN 115873732
07 Manual Equipped 2.2 w/SAI DP/Cat PN 15806265 or 25832162
07 Auto Equipped 2.2 w/SAI DP/Cat PN 15806266 or 25832163

I can't even find the reason for the 2 part numbers listed for the SAI 2.2s DPs in the parts book. Both PNs for each show the same RPOs. (L61, M86, NU6) (L61, MN5, NU6) NU6 = SAI

Question now is -- is the SAI manifold longer than the cast manifold? -- if it is then switching to the LSJ manifold could cause the problems I've run across.

hmm u got a point i ve never thought that the manifold could be longer i ve looked at mine and it looks the same as every other manifold i ve seen on here and i do have sai

SAI DP has 2 cats. Its like one small cat, a gap, then another small cat. I think the smaller dual cats are so they warm up faster and put out better emissions to meet California standards. If I still had my stock cat I'd take a pic but it's gone.

So can an SAI 2.2 still swap to a 2.0 dp? Hope so cause while my engine is out today they are gonna (try i gusee) to put a 2.0 dp on. crossing my fingers.

You should not need to tune out SAI at all. Keep your stock exhaust mani and attach the 2.0dp to it. If you were to replace your header on the other hand you WOULD need to tune out SAI.

You are in Cali, which means emissions testing is a bitch, u will want to avoid removing sai at all costs it appears. was reading the SAI thread to renew my thoughts.

btw, redding is where i'm thinkin about moving in about 2 years after college. i'll be rolling the cobalt down there this summer a couple times. perhaps you'll say hey

Ok, cool, thx for the info. I really didnt want to spend the money on a tune right now. and i dont plan on getting rid of he sai ****.

Let me knwo when you plan on comming down this summer. Im a fire fighter so im not always arround but if i am we will deff meet up and chill.

you only think it pulls much better because it looks so much different. in all reality, the difference is minimal, and not something you can feel.

Yep. Got the SS Dp in today. Cant really feel any difference. The only thing ive noticed is now my car doesnt pop as much when down shifting to 2nd. But it is a bit louder but didnt change how my exhaust sounds which is good cause i like how it was/is.

probably won't feel any diff till you attach either a 2.5inch exhaust to complete it. but you did take care of a hella weak spot in the stock exhaust system.

You underestimate the sensitivity of my ass dyno.. Lol.. I had a header and a 2.5" catback on before i put on the LSJ DP. So when i freed up that choking point, I could definitely feel a difference at high RPMs

So, is the end result that the LSJ DP works without anything else on the 2.2 with SAI? I thought some people were saying there is another o2 sensor that the LSJ DP doesn't have?
