Manifold for my 2.2

Is anyone out there use the stock LSJ manifold on there L61. I was thinking about getting one through the local gm dealer because there really inexpensive. What does everyone think, would it be worth the money. If anyone hase made this change did you use L61 or LSJ gaskets?

you rather get the 2.4 manifold cuz it gives you more hp and has been done by lots of ppl and the improvement on this is proven. i did it myself

Don't know if it would work -- you'd have to cut the L61 manifold gasket as per the GM build book to work (PCV hole matchup). What would you put on top of it to make the TB fit?

Assuming you're talking about the intake because the exhaust manifold is over posted about......

Exhaust manifold is the same on 2.0 LSJ and 2.4 LE5

If youre refering to the exhaust mani I am running it right now and on the ass dyno it wont tell you much, in the 1/4 it shaved off .2. You can buy them for about $40 here on the site, usually in decent condition.

I was talking about exhaust to clear that up. I did not assume I would gain a bunch of power.

06 2.2 cast iron exhaust manifold is more restrictive then the 2.0/2.4 exhaust manifold.

Look at (click-on) picture, 06 manifold on left 2.0/2.4 manifold on right -- should be obvious....

I got the 2.0 manifold on mine right now, and honestly there's not a whole lot of difference. lol

I just got it and ported it some, and you'll have to remember to plug the o2 bung before you install it unless you want your cobalt to sound like a truck going down the road. I think zzperformance sells them for cheap.

Not as much for the 07-up -- new design manifold. The 05 and 06 2.2s came with the smaller "D"-shaped exit, so they benefit the most from this simple upgrade.

Mine can't be that much better, that's my stock one. Notice the horrible concave design on the outlet. I guess mine is more of a B. I'd like to see a 05-06 one to compare.

OMG! That's gay lol......Horrible design. If you think you're ever going to go turbo. Don't waste time and money on a manifold. Save it until you have the green to go boost. You'll be happy you did.

Your picture confirms that the 07-up 2.2 manifold is not the same as the LSJ/LE5 manifold. There is not a BIG difference between the 2, however.
