2: the car was awesome, a huge money pit, a waste of money ($:HP), but I miss it more then any other car

3: yes...I miss having a performance car....Yelloeye lets me drive his LNF every once in a while to get my fill :P and every time I complain that I miss having a perf vehicle.

4: the S4 was nice, and it was an awesome car, but its really apples or oranges on why I liked each

5: I miss my 2.2 :/

I know of a guy who supposedly spent between $60-80K on his Cobalt, so I'm sure there are people who have spent stupid money on these cars, but I dont see why anyone would.

I'll echo the same sentiments that others have, since at one time I too wanted an NA L61. You can put all the mods you want on it, but until you get crazy with the build, you're not ever going to break into the power that a simple supercharger setup would give, and it wont be anywhere near as drivable for a DD.

I did a mild supercharger install almost two years ago and the car still is going strong with about 245HP. I only spent about $2500 to get an extra hundred horsepower. A supercharger is the best bang for the buck, IMO.

All said and done I spent around $8k on mine (plus purchase price) but not all that was on power. I had some interior stuff done, stereo work, suspension, CF hood, etc. So really around 4500-5000 spent on the motor...

I think I've got about $15K in mine but thats including the $9k purchase price. I have yet to build internals or anything like that which would eventually ad about $3-4k. But I also have interior work, stereo upgrades, rims, suspension, etc. For what it is and what I spent, I'm happy with 240hp. It doesn't feel as much like a high school girls car. At the end of the day, for me, its still just a FWD Cobalt. I dont see much need in dumping thousands of dollars into it when you can buy a better starting platform and go from there. To me, the Cobalt is a decent starting platform to get into modding cars, but thats it.

NWAE you poor bastard, you bought a Q7?.... You where better off with the S4. I work at an Audi dealer, I hate the Q7. How many miles are on it? If you need any help with it feel free to message me.

As far as the 2.2 goes, I'll sell you mine

lol, yes. it was a B6 S4 and the timing chain, cats, and fuel pump were starting to go. Was a wonderful car, but it had its issues and was time to go. We bought the Q7 as we went down to 1 car.... Its a 2009 and now has 75000 miles on it. Its an S line prestige, so pretty much all the options and bells and whistles. it was a 1 owner lease return out of CA and is in great condition.

As far as buying a balt...Im in the middle of closing on a house right now...so no hahaha.
A 1972 Ford LTD convertable may be in my near future, Family is selling it and needs some work....but I need a sports car. Would LOVE to have a 6MT B8 S4...but that wont be in the budget for a while...so Im going to need something to work on soon. A balt has crossed my mind....but may stick with something new just for fun.

Though if I found mine...I would buy it back and build the crap out of it LMFAO, no more DD though..just a fun streetable (barely!) car.

/thread jack...for now

Dude timing components on them are insane, I had one back in June I did chains, fuel pump and ac compressor. What a nightmare.... Omg, I didn't think you could build something that stupid.

Make sure you always put premium fuel in that Q7, once you start getting cold start misfires you'll need to scrub the intake valves clean and that's a real pain in the *****.
