MPG for 2.2L

How many MPG does everyone elses 2.2L get? I have read a few different way of improving one's MPG by say a cold air intake, but what other ways bolts or whatever, could I do to improve my Mpg. I have a five speed and I get about 31 MPG and I drive 40% city and 60% Highway most of the time. I shift around 3000 rpm give or take 500. Thanks

Manuals don't have cruise control, which sucks... but I was wondering what everyone is getting too MPG wise.

I drive 90% highway and get about 42 mpg. Only mod is a gmpp intake, but soon a CAI but don't know which one. Also have taken the spare out to lessen weight.

Combined I get 32.2 pretty much every tank.

All highway the best I got was 34.9

My mileage has NEVER dipped below 30

I thought mine was low but I guess its average.

Strip weight. Accelerate briskly but not hard... ie if ou accelerate slowly in a higher gear its going to use more fuel than if you just crack on upto your cruise speed (at a sensible rate)
keep it highly polished.
not massive wheels
correct tyre pressures
etc.

my tarty 2.2 (see garage) speedster/vx220 gets 40mpg every tank without trying, 45mpg if I try and 35mpg when driving the nuts off it.

Really? Hmm, i might have to get it for my car then.

I get between 26-30 in town (with my heavy foot) and get about 31-32 with 30% highway and 70% city if i am easy on it (if i used the 15% ethanol it is a bigger difference, usually 2-4mpg less on that). I don't do much highway, the only 2 times i did highway i was around 34-35mpg.
