MPG for 2.2L
with my injen CAI and my stock exhaust duel out straight pipe, shifting at about 3rpm, mainly highway driveing with some construction. i average abut 33-30, depends on the flow.
i average about 28.7 overall city and highway when and i'm heavy on the gas...no CAI...but i do have a little known MAF/IAT mod that i like to hide (increase in throttle response and a little better gas mileage in the city) if i switch to premium though it goes down to about 27 mpg, mid grad goes down to 26mpg, by far just go ol' 87 i get 28.7. i fill up once per week usually (every friday before the weekend)
I have a SS/SC and I got up to 37, and that was going at 80mph for about 50 miles highway, and 70 mph for 30 miles combo, 55mph for 15 miles street.
I rented a 2.2 and 2.4, they both did 34 for the same trip as above.

Ok, just making sure but the people that are posting are actually checking it right and not going by the bs computer, mine has been within .3mpg and has been off by almost 5, so its not reliable. Just making sure people are checking it and not just going by the comp.
I have checked my comp to my real MPG and it has only been off (at most) 1 MPG less than what I was really getting. 31 MPG with a somewhat heavy foot is really good. Thanks for all the feedback from you guys.

But the computer actually keeps track of the amount of fuel flowing through the injectors into the engine & your miles. Of course if you dont ever reset the gauge then you are not going to get accurate per tank MPG.

we have discussed this a few time, the computer IS more accurate then calculating "the old fashion way" of dividing miles driven by how much you fill up. the "by hand" way does not accomidate gasolines change in volume due to temperture, nor weather or not you fill your tank to the exact same spot; every gas pump is going to shut off the pump at slightly different times.

Im getting 29 city right now and i need a new fuel filter.. i was getting 32 all before.. dropped down into the mid 20's but i changed out my spark plugs and it jumped back up.. I get about 36-38 highway.
Avg around 31 combined, minimal HWY driving though. On long trips to the beach I was up close to 40 mpg. Someone mentioned having cruise put on your balt, yea, I had that done to mine when I got it. I wanted a LT but the only one they had was auto and I wanted to deal that day so I got an LS w/ manual, had them take the car to an auto place to have power windows, locks/keyless entry and cruise put on. Had a little problem w/ the cruise though, first time it did not work, finally they figured out that it needed to go back to the dealer afterwards for a tune to let the comp know cruise was enabled. All this this the said is covered under warranty too, better be.
Dear god.
You have the coolest 2.2L on the site.
Strip weight. Accelerate briskly but not hard... ie if ou accelerate slowly in a higher gear its going to use more fuel than if you just crack on upto your cruise speed (at a sensible rate)
keep it highly polished.
not massive wheels
correct tyre pressures
etc.
my tarty 2.2 (see garage) speedster/vx220 gets 40mpg every tank without trying, 45mpg if I try and 35mpg when driving the nuts off it.

I get 32.9-33.3 average city/highway driving. I drive around 65-70MPH on the free way and cruise a lot to increase efficiency. For the people who get lower, its your driving, not the car (with a slight tolerance allowed for climate differences). Oh, and I have an automatic. I don't have power windows, or any other options besides power locks and an upgraded radio, so my car only weighs around 2700-2800 pounds.
i doubt its my driving, the thing doesnt like stop and go, when your at a light and watchs your mpg you can see that it falls. on my high traffic streets it takes me 30 minutes to cover 5 miles. if i had a tunnel that got me directly to school w/o lights i could get to school in 3-4 minutes and get 35mpg

i guess your right, i play nice with the car, bring it up gently to 3500 in first 3000 in 2second 2500 in 3rd then straight to 5th at 30mph. i really like my car, its fun to zip in and out of traffic, it might only be a 2.2 but i still call it zippy
