Need a tune?
I just bought my Cobalt L61 back in March so im still no used at all to having to have tunes after basically everything i modify. Im used to having older v8s but i needed gas mileage over power so i got my balt with 93xxx on the clock. I love it so far.
I recently (last week) went on vacation to Myrtle Beach and averaged 36.8mpg (all math) all the way there and back which is about 20.3mpg more than my last v8. Anyways, got up there raising immortal hell with the built ass mustangs (it was mustang week), street racing with 5.0s and long story short i ripped my flex pipe on the DP all to hell back. So i bought a BadMab shorty header and a ZZP 2.5" catless DP last night and now im wondering if ill need a tune to make it run right or perform better. The check engine light doesnt bother me but if i can clear it where it wont be back ill do it.
Sorry for long post but im curious about all this and highly interested in all the performance stuff on a 4banger ride.
Thanks, Logan.

a tune is not necessary no. i have an offbrand badmab. an LSJ downpipe. and a 2.5inch exhaust and my car runs just fine. afr's are never really off or anything.
i dont think with that small of mods a tune is worth the 250$ it would cost you to get it done. but thats just my opinion. i get about 30mpg in my car with my setup.
also. where in tennessee do you live? i used to live in newport. east of knoxville

Sucks lol.
When you change te airflow to a computer controlled vehicle that relys on set fueling it needs revised so the ECM don't work so hard. Now you don't have to but it's recommended

Well ill be ordering a Turbo kit from ZZP within the next 12 months so ill wait till then to get it dialed in just right.
ahhh i had a buddy who lived in cookeville. ill be back in dandridge in 2 years livin on douglas lake. i wanna see your car once its turbo'd and have CCSS3 tune your car. that guys a boss.
Alright, that's fine. But compression and leaks own test before I tune yuh. A guy I was about to tune was tuned by trifecta 2.2 sc stock block on a 2.9 pulley had knock everywhere when I logged his car. Even before I attempted to tune it. Itook the block apart and had a hole in the pistons 2,3
