So I went to work Saturday and pulled in some OT, and figured while I was there might as well install my muffler. Well I did, and lets just say I CAN NOT WAIT to install a resonator. It's not that its a high pitch razzpy sound. It's deep..real deep and REALLY LOUD. It puts Civics to shame because their being outsounded and beaten at the same time something they can't handle.
I need another hanger to center it back up in our bumper cutout tried to salvage both, but only ended up saving one. Took me about an hour to install from start to finish since it was my first ever muffler install and took me two passes with welding first was relearning since last time I welded was 8 months ago.

Didn't even have the muffler installed for 1 1/2 hrs and already a Civic challenged me...and you know the rest. Was heading up to my friends that night and a Sunfire with duals got pissed when at every redlight I would just go at a little faster than normal. Not revving my engine or anything just the slight tire spin then the passed me shooting me a bird and got the favor returned when I passed them. They yelled at me out the window...ooo that really scared me HAHAHAHAHA. Kids these days take stuff too seriously.

I recently purchased an SS factory cat-back from a fellow member. I then ordered a Flowmaster Super 40. The Super 40, for those that may not know, has a taller case 5x10 as opposed to the Original 40 4x10; it also is a Delta Flow. The Delta Flow (which I haven't been a real fan of) cuts down on the amount of resonance and the taller case gives a much deeper tone. The Super 40 significantly outflows the Original 40 as well. Since I still have the factory exhuast manifold and downpipe (which isn't even 2" OD), I opted to leave the 2.25" ID over the axle section b/c the guy at the muffler shop was going to crush bend 2.5" OD, which wouldn't have accomplished anything. I used the tip of of the SS muffler.

Sounds extremely good. I've had a lot of people say that it's the best sounding sport compact they've ever heard. It's EXTREMELY DEEP in tone and very noticable in a drive by. From a distance you hear a deep subtle tone. It does rumble and gurgle a bit on decelleration, which I like. It's noticable when driving but not intrusive. It can be loud without being too loud. I wanted an exhaust that drew attention to my car when I wanted to be noticed but something that wasn't so loud when I wanted have the sleeper car thing going on. I am thoroughly impressed with the results, as are all of my friends and family.
I'll try to get some video/sound clips and then figure out how to get them on here. Once I do, I'll start a new thread titled "Super 40 on a 2.2L with SS factory catback).

Yeah I love the muffler, but when I get my header installed OMG I'll hate it. Saving up for the header right now and I guess resonator as well.
I'll try to get a sound clip ASAP. I have to go out there anyways.
Yeah my cat knows I hate him being on the car(been hit by the pillow several times) so now in the summer I make sure I park my car in the hot sun and I don't have to worry about paw prints. He was comfortable...both of us slept today...that was just after I woke up. Gotta love Sundays.
Here is the information about the muffler.
Purchased from: Summit Racing store in McDonough, GA

I'd like to hear what this sounds like. I'll keep checking for the sound clip.
I would also be interested in hearing a 2.4 with the Super 40 b/c they have the larger downpipe. I will upgrade to header and the Random Technology downpipe with hi-flo cat and I'd like to have a idea of how it will change the sound of my exhaust.

OK I am getting a resonator this weekend if I can get one in before Friday that way Saturday morning I can visit a muffler shop.
I just went to my fiance's and going WOT at 40mph in 5th passed a cop who got on my azz trying to get me to mess up. Then two blocks from my fiance's house she was like omg is that you? So yeah I'm going to get something to take away the LOUDNESS...and maybe I get to keep the tone.
