oil squirters
oil squirters
has any one tried to put the oil squirters from a lsj in to a 2.2 for added piston cooling ??? i know they are the same block but was wondering if any ne has tried.
I researched this topic back when I did my engine build. It is possible, but really not worth it. You can find the GM part numbers for the actual jets without a problem from any parts computer. But if you actually try to order them, you run into all kinds of problems. GM just doesn't stock them. They aren't a typical part that would need replacing.
You can take them out of an old LSJ core, but that would be silly, because if you have an LSJ core, you really should just build that. Expecially since it also has the extra oil cooler already attached.
But then, if you actually do get a set of jets somehow, you then still have to drill and tap the block to mount them. And in the end, you just don't help things out that much.
