hey everyone been getting this stupid code sometimes. Its never when im just driving mainly when i go into reverse or from reverse to 1st. anyone have or have had this problem, and what did you guys do to fix it?

 

p2138 code is for accelertor position sensor correlation between app sensor 1&2. I would start by checking the connectors at the sensors. Make sure they are tight, and if so pull them and look for corrosion. Especially if they use salt on the roads in Baltimore.

 

Where are these located cause they use a lot of salt on the roads in baltimore???

 

They are up above the gas pedal on the firewall. Haven't looked at the cobalts, you may have to pull the lower dash piece to get good access to them. Also look to see if any of the wire shielding have been rubbed through (corrosion). Sounds like high resistance in one of the circuits. Could be a bad sensor, or other elecrical problems too. But its an easy place to start.

Np, hope it turns out to be that easy. If you are still using the original battery and it does it when its cold out, have the battery tested too. My 07 started throwing all kinds of refference voltage sensor codes when the battery was at the end of its life. GL
