Raiden8816's Supercharged Build
Raiden8816's Supercharged Build
OMG FINALLY ITS HAPPENING!
To give a preface, I have been collecting SC parts for almost 2 years and 05/13/11 was the start of the build.
The plan/goal to begin is very simple;
Start off with the stock GM pulley on the M62 and evolve from there.
Make this SC 2.2L as efficient and reliable as possible.
I'm not looking to be the fastest car out there, so I'm going keep her well under 250hp before the engine decides to hate me.
I will run both 91 and E85 tunes.
Here is a list of major parts within the build:
Eaton M62 Supercharger w/ STOCK GM PULLEY
RD Fabs 3" CAI w/ AEM Filter
80lb Fuel Injectors EV6
Stock LSJ TB
Option B Cooling w/ stock heat exchanger
TTR Motor mount
Existing parts that are carrying over:
OBX H/D combo w/ cat delete 2.5"
Custom 2.5" mandrel-bent exhaust w/ Magnaflow muffer
TTR Automatic transmission mounts
Items that are staying the same (tune-wise):
65% shift pressure
7,150 RPM Rev-Limiter
Cooling Fans on high all the time
No rev limiter in Park
Keep CEL P0420 (cats) deleted
-----------------------------------------------------------------
As for day one progress, we got all the old stuff out of the way and began working on repinning the throttle body harness. Pulley tensioner has also been installed. Also cleaned up the engine a bit from oil leakage from the intake manifold that was on the car. Anyhoo onto the pics!

Final pix as an N/A L61

The parts table

I knew about this moment, this is all thanks to the "2.4L manifold" I bought a couple of years ago. Keep calm its just oil.

Now before people start asking, when I first got the car I hit another car with no visual damage....and yes I knew about the front impact of the frame on that section, after I put the SS front bumper on a few months ago

All the wires unloom'd, getting ready for the repin.

All nice and clean, after some well-earned TLC

SC manifold is mocked up, pulley tensioner/alternator done, TTR motor mount done.

Day one is in the books.
Stay tuned I will update later posts with pics/vids, etc.

So the build was completed at 10:30pm az time. The base tunes idle is awful. The car dies if its at a stop for long period of time. Until I get a revised tune, I have to brake boost at stoplights/signs to keep the car alive. But other than that issue and also the tune being piggy rich all the mechanical aspects are perfect

Thanks man,
finally home gonna hit the hay, I would post pics/vids right now but ssfamilywagon's finace took care of that instead of me using my regular digital camera.
funny thing is though with this base tune idle issue, it feels to me like a manual, you need to keep the RPMs going lol. but i'm confident that vince will fix that as priority 1, the second priority will be to eventually make it faster.

Don't forget we added the dual pass on your set-up as well bro.
But all in all its looking good. I was pleased we got it done so fast and very lil mishaps. I'll have her post the other pics and vids soon for you guys.
I'm also interested to see how you do at the track now. I wanna put a smaller pulley already LOL

Oh yeah kyle's dad used the adapter for the boost gauge and basically got it to the smaller half on the adapter so the boost gauge is working. Whats odd is that its about -15 ish psi, I give it just a little gas its still negative. But when I actually jumped on it, the gauge went to 6 psi then I let off since it shifts so damn quick now.
Okay because I thought I had a vac leak. Kyle's dad works on the jets for the air nat guard for a living and was saying "rob the reason your idle is bad because the transmission thinks there's this load but there isn't for the gear"
I said, just let me reflash it tomorrow (crosses fingers) and she should be better
