Rear Drup Brake replacement

Can someone help?
I cant seem to get off the lil pin looking thing holding the parking brake bracket to the shoe..
Am i doing something wrong?

Cmon guys i know ya can help..

Chiltons says 1) To remove the trailing shoe/parking brake lever, depress the tab at the end of the cable end and twist the lever off the cable end

if i'm getting it you need to adjust that little nut on there so it has some slack to remove the pin you speak of. then use vice grips to remove that weird spring.

Brake Drum Replacement

* Tools Required
* J 41013 Rotor Resurfacing Kit
* J 42450-A Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit

Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in Service Precautions.

Removal Procedure

1. Check to ensure that the park brake is fully released.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.



4. Remove the brake drum.
5. If the brake drum is to be reinstalled to the vehicle, use the J 41013 to clean any rust or corrosion from the hub/flange mating surface of the brake drum.If necessary, carefully remove any corrosion from the edge of the drum braking surface in order to ease installation.
6. Use the J 42450-A to clean the wheel hub flange.

Installation Procedure



1. Adjust the drum brakes.
2. Install the brake drum.
3. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
4. Apply the brakes approximately three times in order to seat and center the brake shoes within the drum.
5. Lower the vehicle.
