reliability with cams

i've searched a bit and cant quite find anything for the cams i want.
looking at getting comp cams part #113300, wanted to know if anyone else is running them?
if so, can you give me your input on them? not trying to upgrade valves and springs if i dont have to.

Are they stage one or two? Reliability would be the same as stock if you tune it right and take care of the car.

I thought you had basically no disposable income. Cams are to help power once upgraded I don't see them doing much on a basically stock car, what are your current mods?

intake, 3" catless zzp downpipe, full 2.5" exhaust, and i have a 2.4 manifold and throttle body to put on when i install the cams. also already have a trifecta tune for it all, waiting until its all installed to upload.

Dont bother with cams until you are boosted. In fact you wont need them until you get a built engine. Better of saving for a blower or turbo
Unless you are going for a high hp NA build, dont do that though.

not going for boost or high hp. just want a decently fast DD. aiming for 200 whp, not much more than what i already have. just intake, downpipe, and muffler delete got me to 144 whp and 141 torque.

That really doesn't seem like much of an improvement for how much was spent, I feel I have to be above that with intake, exhaust and tune but it's the LAP so it's got VVT. Picked up a turbo kit tonight though which is why I never got any header/dp for it, didn't know if I wanted to go TC or SC.

mine is the non vvt l61. =/ and the most expensive part was the DP, $70 on craigslist.

Yes it is, minor bolt ons just wont get you there. Just save up about a grand and you could have a supercharger kit from mongorat

I'm well aware you've got an l61 not the LAP as I but what I was saying is that seems like a really low number for what you've put on.

I run comp cams in my SS/SC.

I've had not one issue with them since I installed them back in January.

I recommend you install springs though when you upgrade the cams.

It's the intake cam. It's about half an inch longer than the exhaust cam.

You don't have a cam pos sensor.

Staged who'd you work with to get your cams? Matt?
