thats only for the 2.0 LSJ engine you need the hexes. You can get drop in cams from comp for the 2.2 but It wont get you as much power as a supercharger. And its almost as expensive as a kit from mongorat on here

Unless something has changed since I last looked into camming my 07 L61, the cam position sensor is on the opposite side of the head from the 05-06 L61which is what years comp made them for. OP is correct, you have to have the stock tone wheel put on the new cam. Dig up some of NWAEcobalts old threads. He tried the hardest to get 200on N/A whp iirc. I think he got 188 or so. He had stage 2 comp cams and it was a bear to start and keep idling on cooler days. Honestly too big of a pita if you ask me. Especially for a dd. But it did sound siiick in person.

cause you have to press the sensor on the new cam. No one makes a direct swap for 07+ cobalts.

Piece together a used supercharger kit for about the same price as cams, make a lot more power.

I also don't think any 2.2 after 07 has had aftermarket cams put in.

As everyone has said, really just save up and go sc. It'll probably cost about $1500 total and you'll also need a new clutch soon but otherwise it's really not worth the amount already sunk into it.

BTW I've already come to this realization and am gather parts to piece together a turbo kit. I've got a good start picking all the big parts up used for a good price (EFR 6758 turbo, treadstone intercooler, 3in downpipe with cat and catless interchangeable piece and charge piping). Going sc is much cheaper and you don't have to upgrade the internals unless you really start pushing it.

DO NOT install cams without upgrading the valve springs.

You can make 200whp on the motor if you try hard enough, I nearly did it.

Cams are never a waste of time, I run Comp Stage 2 N/A cams on my turbo setup just fine.

Getting a Hex pressed into a cam end really isn't that big of a deal, the old 2.4 Twin Cam boys get it done all the time.

All-Motor is expensive, Superchargers are for people who are confused by turbo set-ups, Turbos blow your junk up.

turbo setups are easy. i pieced together a .70 trim turbo setup on my old civic and got over 400whp out of it.
im just going to do the simple thing, eagle rods, stock replacement pistons, comp cams part #113300, twin valve springs, retainers, and stock ss/sc with 2.8 pulley. and of course a trifecta tune. should give decent numbers for a DD.
