Wink Rockstar's SC build thread

well for about the past month i have been selling and buying all kinds of stuff for the sc build im planning. i could of made a post a while back but i didnt feel like having to bump it all the time if it doesnt stay active. but currently im about at 2400$ spent right now. but not all on sc stuff. i put in new struts in,strut mounts, sway bar end links, poly control arm bushings. and ceramic brake pads. (all suspension parts are new parts from either moog or monroe for an ss/sc with a life time warranty). then i put some racing seats in my car (not for the cool factor for the fact they are alot more comfortable then them crappy stockers) and lastly i have installed an ss/sc gauge cluster. now i have fixed some other small odds and ends like the snapped ebrake cable and a messed up door pannel.

as for the sc build. i bought an exedy stage 2 clutch and a new tob from gm. i bought a "sc kit" from hatrickstu that i am waiting to get in the mail. ill be running the stage 2 pulley with 42# injectors, along with a dual pass endplate. ill have the gmpp manifold on there and a stock lsj down pipe. and im keeping my magnaflow cat back for now. down the road i want to get a cai and a bigger heat exchanger. along with maybe a diff exhaust. only thing that worry's me is if i need to get my car re tuned with every mod i do after the initial install and tune? all piece should be here within a week if that so i will start then. i allready have my auto meter boost gauge and wide band along with my gauge pod from zzp.

i was going to install my new clutch this weekend and hope for the best, but this past sat i thought i spun a bearing AGAIN in my car. (last summer the motor was replaced when the car had 69k on it) took it to the dealer and they tell me its not in the motor its in the tranny. BUT not internally in the tranny that its something with the clutch or flywheel or throw out bearing.... OK SWEET, i planned on doing this. but i had to pay 70 bucks just to tell me this and they didnt take anything apart.. well good thing i have a warranty with my ins company (who paid for the mysterious blown up motor that fried a ring and lost 4 quarts of oil between oil changes) well called ins they said ok but the dealer needs to tear the trans apart determine whats wrong with it and call them back and they will approve the claim or deny it if the claim is approved all costs for the inital tear down will be covered if no i have to pay for it... well i give em the ok and they call me today at work.... it was my flywheel.. A BOLT WAS LOOSE!!! wich i think aka means the whole flywheel was but w/e.. so the dealer knowing i have a clutch and throw out bearing at home says. well it was just a loose flywheel bolt we dont know why it came loose if it was something from us when we did your motor swap or what happened. but if you want bring in your parts and we will put them in. (I ASK) well dont your need to call insurance/ warranty people (DEALER) nope (ME) well how much is this going to cost me (DEALER) nothing bring your parts in we will put them in put it all back together and your good to go! ok sweet so i leave work early take them my parts and get to check out my car on the lift with the cariage dropped and trans out. and ask about the flywheel needing replaced or machined... the dealer swares the flywheel is in almost perfect shape and doesnt need a thing. and my clutch after 80+k still looked half good (i was shocked) so ill have my car back tom with my stage 2 installed for free! and then its on too boostin time!

oh and if anyone wants to buy a 2.7 pulley and hub off me let me know. and buy or trade me some 60s and harness for my 42s and a harness!!

as i start the actual build i will include some pics and all that good stuff.

What part of Ohio are you from? I'm from the Dayton area and I'm just waiting for my last few parts for my supercharger build to come in! Good luck

The length and size requirements of the intake manifold bolts were in my build thread.
