Sentry's Turbo Build is Complete!!!

I was going to wait a bit and start this a couple of days before the install, but I figured while I'm bored sitting here at work I could at least put something up if only for inventory's sake. This is going to be my log of everything since I have an absolutely terrible memory.

Turbo build set for 01/28 - 01/31!

What I've got on so far:

  • Full Garrett T3/T04E 57 trim .63 A/R with stg 3 wheel
  • TiaL 38mm Wastegate set at 7 psi
  • Vulcan intake manifold powdercoated black
  • Vulcan turbo manifold w/external WG flange
  • 42lb Injectors
  • 27" Intercooler (thanks to psycho cam)
  • Zeitronix wideband & datalogger
  • Hayden auto tranny cooler
  • 2 full sets of 2.5" IC piping (thanks to elec blue)
  • RFL bov adapter for 2.5" piping
  • Intake adapter for MAF sensor
  • ZZP catless DP with 2.5" outlet
  • LSJ catback
  • (x2) 3.0" to 2.5" silicone reducers for MAF adapter pipe
  • (x1) 3.0" to 2.5" silicone reducer for 3" filter adapter pipe
  • Autometer boost gauge in 3 gauge pod
  • 2.5" to 2.0" silicone reducer for compressor outlet
  • 2.75" to 2.5" silicone reducer for turbo intake (don't ask)
  • NGK Spark Plugs Iridium (BKR7Eix) 1 step colder gapped to .034"
  • MAF adapter at autozone
  • Turbo XS RFL bypass valve
  • 12ft of vacuum lines
  • Oil lines and fittings
  • O2 Bung for DP
  • Heat wrap for manifold
  • Ecotec exhaust flange from zzp for custom DP
  • 3" filter adapter
  • T3 gasket
  • Turbo back dp

Waiting to go on:

Nothing!

What I still need:

Nothing!

I took off 2 days around my 2 days off, which is going to give me 4 whole days to work on it starting on Wednesday, 01/28th spanning Saturday, 01/31st. I expect to have everything on by wednesday night, and tuning will start the following day until Vince gets it perfected. I have a wideband, so no worries, he'll have it set to a T by fri/sat I'm sure.

Here's some pics for your viewing pleasure:

I'll update this when I get more parts in, I got a bunch of stuff sitting at the house that I'll take pics of once I get it all in. And, like I said, build date is set in stone for 01/28th-01-31st, that's next week! I'm going to make this into a how to later, showing the important steps and the custom issues I ran into. Should be fun.

If you're wondering what I used to mount the intercooler, I went to a local hardware store and picked up two heavy duty metal shelf hangers and cut/drilled them.

Things to do:
  • Perfect the tune, datalog.

Good luck with your build mine is taking me a little longer than expected. I will keep my thread updated aslo? Are u running water lines to the turbo? If so where are u getting all the fittings at to tie into the lines?

Mine is oil cooled only, thankfully. You'll need to look up your turbo and maybe measure the ports to find the right fittings.

Yeah, off the intercooler after it makes that first bend up, that's where the bov will be. Maf adapter pipe will be about a foot away from the TB.

so the bov will be on ur passanger side? I might just keep mine on the drivers side but I am not sure if it will be too close the the maf.

what made u go with a tranny cooler?

It will be on the drivers side actually. Post intercooler. As long as they aren't RIGHT beside one another it's fine.

Tranny cooler is for my automatic, it's just extra protection and it lengthens the life of the transmission. It's a cheap safety mod.

I'll be making a how-to of my particular setup, for anyone that's interested. Stay posted.

both can be bought at zzp i believe
I've heard it's really easy to just repin the injector clips, but I'm pretty good with a soldering iron, so I'll just solder them on.

I bought the injectors and harness from a guy on here for $120.

Heh, possibly. I was going to go with a SS bumper cover to show it off, but the sleeper look is good too.

almost every IC on the market has thier brand painted on the front of it. I doubt it's a facny type of paint but yeah I would not go overboard with it.

Honestly, if I had the time I would probably go ahead and get either that one or the Cobalt addiciton one. If you just have the regular intake pipe, the couplers might slip off because the ends are not rolled to the tip. Meaning the coupler doesn't have a lot to hold onto.

You might wanna quaduple clamp that thing, lol.

the rolled ends help the clamps/couplers from slipping off under boost.. so it has somthing to catch on to stop it from coming apart

you should cut out those slats in the bumper under the plate so you still have the sleeper 2.2 look but have a little bit of show
