Side exit exhaust
I think having longer exhaust piping deadens the sound alot
unless you can get a cat, resonator AND muffler under there before the exit its going to be loud regardless. it just depends on what you can stand...
I personally wouldn't do it, its not going to sound very good at all and it won't do much for performance. I ran open header on my 2.2 for fun and that was not even driveable at that level...side exhaust will be quieter but not by much IMO.

i did side exit exhaust for about a week. it sounds like ****..there's a link to what mine use to sound like. i know mine is the s/c model but you get the idea!

My car sounded just like BAMFNSS's when the clamp after the resonator came loose and the pipe opened up. Actually, at that time I still had a cat. But the sound with no muffler was horrible and way too loud. It did make me feel like I had a race car when I started it, but after that I felt like a damn ricer. Only had to drive it home and back to work though.
