sleeves

my buddy is going to build a motor and he asked me how much power could stock 2.2 sleeves hold? im guessing 300-350

these 2.2s are slow stock, but with a little work can produce some power

Sleeves i Believe are the same, although the 2.0 has a oil cooler and piston squirters, I believe other than that they are the same.

I could have sworn the build book has different numbers for HP limits on the 2.0 and 2.2 blocks. I'd have to check again

when you go to order sleeves they are different for the 2.0 and the 2.2 iirc. I just looked and they are the same picture so they might be the same...

When i was getting my block from bates he said it doesn't matter which one I get just one won't have a oil cooler

Don't worry guys, the stock timing chain guides are good to 1400hp

I thought the skirt length was different? Aka, the LSJ had shorter skirts?

I could be wrong. I'd also prefer to keep the oil cooler.

Yes he'll be fine at those power levels with just rods and pistons. The sleeves are good to 400hp(I've seen one go right at 406hp).
