Some clutch issues

First things first: I've been casually searching for quite some time, but haven't found any answers to this.

So. I have an '06, and seem to be having some clutch issues. There's about 2 inches of play in my clutch from the top. There's almost no resistance, to the point that I can push it with my pinky finger. From there on, it behaves well.

Second issue: if I'm not running gears to high-ish rpm's, the clutch engages almost immediately after i start to lift my foot. This seems to be tied in with my car not wanting to go into gear and the occasional grinding when it decides to engage slightly even though my foot has the pedal to the floor.

I've bled my system numerous times in the two years I've had the car, and I'm crossing my fingers it's not a slave/master cylinder issue. Has anyone else been down this road?
