Hey, does the the injen (or any other cold air intake) make the car sound noticably different? some people say they notice it others dont. I'm stuck between the injen and the AEM. i have a 2.2

 

Its a lot louder... annoyingly loud actually.

 

Yea it dose ive had people ask if i have a Supercharger under the hood and im just like no its a Injen Cold Air Intake. but yea dude they sound nice as hell. i love mine

 

My Weapon R short ram screams. people say they can hear it over my exhaust

AEM and i get asked if it SC all the time. Very loud my exhaust needs finished so some of the engine noise goes away!

 

go for the injen. i installed mine and was supprised how much louder it is above 4000 rpms

 

Yea, the intake does make the engine louder, especially at WOT. I installed my Injen on my 2.2 a few weeks ago and love it.

 

I went with the AEM w/ dryflow filter. No cells and sounds great with my magnaflow cat back exhaust. DO a search, the vids/ sound clips will come up.

anyone know if an aftermarket intake sounds louder/same as the airbox mod?? im running the airbox mod and its pretty loud itself already

 

I think its pretty much the cone that makes a difference, so if u get a new cone and replace the stock air filter it will still be louder. I'm not sure how much louder a full intake would be compared to just the air box mod but I think you get most of the sound from the filter itself not the tubing.
So to answer your question I'd say its probably about the same as anyone else who has an aftermarket intake.

 

Yeap. Have the injen ( short ram for now until the dry season gets here) and holy hell does it talk to you. cant help but giving her some gas everytime i go under a bridge now. Yea, very worth it. Loud as well, windows up and down.

Out in the country...like the deepest darkest parts, before I had my exhaust done...I let TCarter take my car down the road at WOT while I stood outside and listened, because I had just done the same and TCarter claimed my car sounded like a jet. So yeah, go somewhere deserted and just listen...it's pretty damn cool

 

the injen sri is loud as hell. once i did my cold air intake injen..sounds good. not as loud but..a good loud. ill see if i can get a vid up maybe 2morrow.

 

Yea i got teh Ingen Short Ram Cold Air Intake. i love giving it gas under bridges. that and just enjoying a crusie down the higway listening to the Intake scream. god it a wonderful sound.

 

That's exactly how it was for me, the short ram was so loud at WOT.
