The only ticket I've received was when I was covering my college football team in a rental Ford Taurus from the university. We were driving up to Northwestern University to cover a game and I was driving about 105 for about 15 minutes, but decided to slow down in a line of cars that were doing 85.

Some cop in an unmarked red Mustang GT pulled the whole line of traffic over - about five cars - and I received my only speeding ticket of my life.

I would have been angry normally b/c he wrote down that we were in a 55 zone when we were actually in a 65, BUT, I was happy he didn't clock me going 105 in a university car!

Shows what "friends" will get you. That's B.S. to get away with that in a 35 zone. Speeding on a highway is one thing, but in a residential area is completely different.

Fair enough. If you are sure that instant-on radar and lasers arent being used by the majority of the police in your area, a radar detector would be very helpful. I just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware that it doesn't always help.

I just know that in Ohio, 98% of all police, city/state both, use the laser and/or the instant-on radar.

i think i have a pretty good one... i got pulled over in my little gmc sonoma doing 110 in a 50... it was like 1 in the morning and the cop reached in my window and grabbed me by the shoulder and yells "do you have any drugs on you?" i about **** my pants cuz he scared me so bad... but then he started laughing and was like, "i'm just fukin with you... have a good night!" the greatest night of my life to be honest... he said i was "going a little too fast!" it was great... plus i got pulled over in an area that's notorious for ******* cops... friend got a ticket there going 51 in a 50 a few days earlier... needless to say he was pissed at me when he heard my story!

Kenny and i got pulled over Day 2 of having my cobalt SS/SC in NJ coming back up to Long Island from Avalon for the weekend. We were on the Garden State Parkway and the speed limit dropped from 50 to like 30...we were going 80...LOL

I was asleep because i opted to drive there not back...all i remember is kenny going...OMG Donna! Wake up! We are getting pulled over.
I was like who what where Huh...WHY! then i started to panic because i didnt know where any of my paperwork from the dealership was...of course the cop had to get all pissy and ask 10000000 questions about where i got the car, when i bought it, who owns it...blah blah blah,

We luckily got just a stupid non moving violation ticket....

94 mph in a 65, on I-95 in west palm beach @ 2:30am, glad he didn't get me @2:28am that's when I was doing 125 mph. DON'T GO TO THE TICKET CLINIC to fight the ticket just do it on your own, they are nothing but scam artests, just listen to there message on there phone it says you might have to pay all fines and do traffic school anyways. well if you have to do that mine as well take care of it on your own, and save some money by not having to pay them for nothing.
p.s. happined 2 months after havin' my SS/SC, good bye "safe driver".

one day in jail for every mph over 100 in VA....

20 mph over is reckless driving which is a class A misdemeanor.

Does that mean you lost the race?

My first ticket down here in FL was on Hwy 98 heading east towards Panama City. This was back with my 2002 Cavalier Z24. I was speeding and in the passing lane, doing about 75 in a 55. But I was behind a dark silver Mazda 3 and beside a white Chevy Corsica, which was passing us on the right. The cop was passing on the other side of the road, and spun around to pull me over. After I got the ticket, I asked why I got pulled over instead of the guy in front of me or the guy passing me on the right, and his reply... "I was gonna have you follow me while I nabbed the other guys, but I got lazy. Such is life." Well, Mr. Prickcopthatsuckshard, I'm fighting your ticket. That was back on November 26th 2005 or something, and I'm still waiting on the court date.

My second ticket down here was this year, and I had my SS/SC. I was just about to Eglin AFB for work at about 10:30pm. The cop was hiding behind a pizza place on the main stretch and nabbed me for going 61 in a 35. I should have fought the ticket, though, because I JUST left a Tom Thunb store about 1/8mi back, and unless I was drag racing my way (which I wasn't), 61 was a bit high. But I opted for the driving school (www.drivesafeonline.com, God bless it), and I won't get points assessed. Still gotta take care of that course, heh.

And since that last ticket, I bought the Passport 8500 that you see in the early posts of this thread. And WOW has it saved me. I also got a deal on it from an employee at Best Buy. I paid about $190 for it. But I got the red one, not the blue, since I don't see the point in paying an extra $25-30 for blue LEDs as opposed to red.

1.) 67 in 55 got off with a "just slow down" i was scarred shitless due to i was 16 and it was like 2 minutes to 9pm and i couldn't drive after 9 and he kept asking where the drugs were at...
2.) 88 in 55 i knew i was done so i just pulled over (prolly the hottest girl state trooper i have ever seen in my life) she came up asked if i knew why she pulled me over and i was like no (but i had pulled over b4she put her lights on) and then asked how fast i was goin i was like a lil over 60 she was like no 88 i was like oh. so she took my liscence and registration went to her car came back with a ticket and was like i gave u a ticket for no seatbelt (i had mine on) and told me to slow down i don't want points on my liscence or my insurance to go up.
3.) 76 in a 55 another state trooper he pulled me over asked if i knew how fast i was goin and i said "too fast" and he said 76 i was like yea and he took my info came back, asked me to get out of the car, i was shittin my pants, and so were my friends in the car, he tells me that he gave me a ticket for unlawful speedometer, and to slow down.

Each time i was pulled over i had my liscence and registration in hand and ready to give them as soon as the got to the window. ive been pulled over a couple other times for misc. stuff.

no speeding tickets yet!

ya uh, he wrecked like yesterday, trying to do a e-brake 180 and went ass end into a telephone pole doing like 40, his car is no more, but it was a POS anyway, and when he did the 165 in a 30, it was 3 in the morning, where the highway changes to city

1st ticket I was doing 70 in a 55 with friends in the car, got tagged by an unmarked. Got off with a warning.

2nd ticket was in Houston, was driving past a school at 6pm at 40mph. Cop told me it was a school zone until 7pm or some crap like that, didn't matter though cause I did the defensive driving and erased the ticket.

3rd ticket was going 85 in a 55, cop let me go with a failure to obey a posted sign ticket.

4th ticket pissed me the hell off. Was driving 60-65 on I-79, cop FLIES by me like nobody's business. It wasn't congested, but there was a decent amount of traffic. Of course everyone slows down to like 45 cause "OMG TEH COP" so I start passing people. Get up the road a little ways, some people pass me. We go for another 2 miles or so and all of a sudden I notice I'm catching the cop who is now in the left lane, infront of a truck that just passed me. All of a sudden the cop DIVES across the right lane onto the berm, almost hitting a car, then as soon as I pass him does a burnout into traffic and pulls me over. Proceeds to tell me that I was going "close to 80" (never went above 65), but he "gives me a break" and says that I was doing 76 in a 55. I was PISSED. Went to court and plead to 5 over, minimum fine an no points. I figured if the DJ was half as crooked as the cop was, I didn't stand a prayer so I decided to just take the fine and make sure the points stayed off my license.

Funny thing was I had another run-in with the same cop about a month later on the same road. Everyone was doing about 60 in a pack of about 15 cars. He decides he's going after someone, pulls out, flings rocks and gravel everywhere (one happens to chip my windshield), ends up losing control of the car, and spins right in front of me. I ended up having to put the car in the median to keep from hitting him. I called the local barracks and made a supervisor come out ON SITE to see the damage to my car (windshield was cracked, and I scraped up the bumper when I had to put it in the median) and file a complaint against the guy, that's when I found out it was the same one. A month and a half after that he got busted for using steriods and got kicked off the force. I was loving every minute of it, particularly him on the news in handcuffs at the SAME DJ's office that I had to go fight the stupid ticket at.

Yeah, I thought it was funny. Best comment was as I was waiting for the hearing, another couple was there too, the cop walks in, goes into the courtroom and the two people go "MAN, he just LOOKS like an *******, good luck sweetie."
