^^ last i heard his car was dead....not because of turbo design or boosting just a simple engine failure i believe.

its in a few pages back.

I can't believe I read all that **** for it to...

1. Take 4Ever To Build
2. Blow a motor
3. Decide to use a Stock Motor on "***** Mode"

It's like watching a train wreck, except this was more costly...

i believe if he would've got some who actually knew what they were doing when they installed that STS kit he would've had a nasty cobalt monster. I'm installing a similar kit on my VW r32.

Forget about me? Mine was running great until i let a shop put an exhaust on and pull my actuator hose clamp off. And mine was done about a year before anyone else on this forum

Its time for an update

My new engine is installed in the car and everything and the mechanic told me about what he thinks happend to the motor. In short he said that if a motor is not broken in properly ALL rod bearings will go bad, not just one cylinder. One cylinder may fail before the others is likely. What he saw was only one cylinder rod bearings were burnt up, the rod endcap bolts were streched, trq'd and snaped only on one cylinder. He said the only thing that can explain it was that the end cap bolts were not properly trq'd down.

To further back his claims up he just finished taking the motor out and putting the new one in and he said they Mckey Moused the engine back into the engine compartment. He had to order all the proper nuts and bolts and for the ones that were STILL missing. Not only that but he had to re-run some of the wiring because they left everything hanging around the block and dangling.

I will never go back to Millenium for anything, not even an oil change. From now on ill take my car back to michigan.

OK enough of the rant, lol. I'm going back to michigan friday to pick my car up.

If anyone wants to check out the set up while im in michigan let me know (in a pm) and ill give ya my phone number

actually, it wasnt the shop that installed the STS kit. They actually did a good job and i apreciate those guys at Dyno Tune Peformance. This was a fabrication nightmare from the start.

The problem was Millennium Performance and their Mckey Mouse job on my motor. Should have known better then to trust import guys to work on my domestic.

yeah, this guy that installed my motor is a former cavy builder. He said when im ready to get the engine re-forged he would hook me up on a labor cost deal.

it was a shop out in colorado that fit the yellow one. I keep in touch with STS a lot and i asked them a lot of questions they put me in contact with that shop.

The yellow never got tuned properly and the owner couldnt finish paying for the custom fabrication. It is the first to be fitted with the STS kit, but I am the first to have a tuned and working STS cobalt. My car is on their page too, go to the end of their pictures slide and you will see many pics of my car and the install.

Doesnt look like you'd need to pay for more than the custom axle back exhaust and wastegate plumbing, otherwise the rest of that you could do yourself...

they had to fabricate a lot actually, here is a few pics. they had to weld in some bonges for the brass fittings for the PCV system. Most of the piping is welded together w/ exception a few couplers in the rear so that i can drop the piping if needed to, and a few up in the engine compartment.

I'll never do performance parts out side of exhaust headers and intake's. I had a bad experiance trying to do my cams and jacked things up.

I had them re-route the waste gate so it would apear to still be dual exhaust

Dude that looks pretty sweet honestly, anyways. I see where your coming from, I guess because I am pursuing an Auto degree at the local tech school it doesnt look too bad to me. I kinda know how to weld(would just have my teacher do it) but otherwise not too bad. Looks great, been dyno'd yet?
