So I doubt you had a blank head with extra materal added to make up the difference. Here is a diagram of the supertech and some psi springs that I found to help explain it..

Now the supertech 76lb springs can handle up to .445 of lift at the stock ecotec spring height.
hi. let me put it to you like this.

the gm racing cams i had in the car were over .437 lift on the exhaust, and .441 on the intake not counting on rocker ratio being added into that.

8k rpms. zero valve float, or signs of a weak spring.

now, the 78lb kit is good to .547 lift, or 13.90mm of max net lift. 20.70mm coil bind.

the 76lb kit is good to .614 max net lift, however, the coil bind rate is much lower at 19.00mm.

the 94lb kit shares the same specs as the 78lb kit. only difference is the seat pressure.

my 78lb springs from supertech have been in my car for 20k+ miles with ZERO problems. if you want to start debating anything else. get some useful information to back up your claims.

p.s. stock LSJ cams have a max lift of .395.

He is using valve spring height that is pulled from the L61 build book where they use a sportsman head and lighter shorter valves.

The max lift published by Supertech is without the optional seat locators, the coil bind height is with them.

Do not do this to the lash adjusters. You want to bleed air out of them, not in them.

Typical tensionner problem noise

I guess it is either not depressed or damaged

i pretty much think that he is gonna wait til after we get the motors in time and then we do some data logging then he will do the retunes cuz he does a lot now n then when its timed correctly it runs like **** then he will have to go back to square one where it mite have been right and go all over again... ya kno what i mean. go on aim

i was running rich... low-mid 12s at WOT and i had KR like crazy. plus my IDC's were 76% at 6000rpm and around 90% at 7000 (not even redline) so i need a wire harness from the ss/sc to put in my bigger injectors

and with out timing being out, it may be building up excessive pressure and causing the knock retard so once its timed we may have the KR fixed (unless its the noisy valvetrain). is yours still making noises?

i managed to chirp 3rd still with all the KR i got lol
