I bought a chrome exhaust tip for the car before I got my custom exhaust. It was for 2" OD and smaller and it fit very loosely. I'd wager 1.75" ID.

ok so the fact that I need a new muffler and don't have space to work on my car. I am not putting the new exhaust is until I buy a house. I need to put a new muffler on the factory exhaust so I need to look for 1.75" muffler to clap on the pipe or can I clap a 2" or 2.25"? Also I haven't got under the car to look but can I run a center inlet or does it have to be offset?

2.25 is too big. its smaller than a 2 also so most likely the 1.75. best bet is to get a pair of calipers and check. Also my muffler that i did was centered.

So if I buy a muffler with 1.75" inlet will it fit onto the exhaust to clamp it? I don't want to weld the muffler on.
