stock pulley on 60s
stock pulley on 60s
am i good to run the stock 3.1 on my 60s or will the 60s be too much? i have 1 blower with a 2.8 and 2 blower with the stock pulley. i'd prefer to run the stock pulley till i build the motor.
i purchased the injectors with the intentions of running the 2.8 but yeah haha. and i really don't want to buy another set of injectors

just checked the wot-tuning forum for trifecta. i'm an 06 so i'm limited to trifecta, it basically says that the 60s and a 3.4 pulley idle like **** and stall and it would be better to run 42s with the 3.4 or pulley down to the 3/3.1 range.
might pulley down to that range.

60s will idle the exact same no matter whether you have a 3.4, 3.1 or even a 2.5. youre gonna draw in relatively the same amount of air at idle no matter the pulley size. the boost bypass valve is always open under vacuum.
60s dont always idle well, but that is all dependent on the tune. dont take advise on tuning from those who havent tuned

It has to due with the spray pattern not the injector size, unless the minimum pulse width is more than what you need (which I believe is not the case with 60s, 80s). A single cone spray pattern does not work well at idle with a spilt intake port (2valves per cylinder for intake) you need a split designed spray pattern like the stock injectors or the GM stage lsj injectors.
All I'm saying is that 60s will idle as shitty or just as well no matter the pulley size. If you are really worried about idle, run 42s, because you might be hit or miss with trifecta. The single spray pattern has something to do with it, but I think they aren't quite as accurate as others at low pulse widths. I may be incorrect though.
Part of it has to do with the tables people are running. And you have no control over that with trifecta unfortunately

it just depends. ive heard good and bad about trifecta. if you just want a nice power bump, do a 3.1 and 42s. you can always take a look at injector dynamics. they are about 480$ for 4, but they have 715 cc/min which is like 68 lb/hr. they are known to idle well and they even provide the injector tables on their site. supposedly they are cut and paste into the tune. id imagine vince or anyone else couldnt mess that up and would be the best of both worlds. good idle and lots of headroom on the injector
when i first ran a canned tune from ottp, my 60s would only die when coming to a stop at redlights very seldomly. they would idle fine and maybe surge a little, but nothing major. they would never just die randomly while idling. after dialing in the maf, the engine dying at a stop ended completely. either way, good luck. i know getting ahold of vince hasnt been the easiest thing lately
I was running 42s (gm stg 2) and a 3.1 and the idle was fine. No issues. Only idle related problems were due to dirty TB.
I'm on a 2.8 and 60s now (new, built motor) and they actually idle better most of the time. I find when its running at operating temperature or when its a bit hot, it wont like to idle smoothly. Like you have to feather the gas a bit to get it to rest at idle while it figures its **** out lol. This is a base tune too (trifecta) so I'm hoping it gets better after I log it after motor break in.
