thermostat issues
i had the same problem for a year till i finally fixed it. the seal on the thermostat went bad. replace your thermostat and you will be good to go. its not the sensor. if you want to check if its the sensor, disconnect the ecu under the hood in front of the fuse box, both connections, for 30 sec then plug it back in. when you turn the car back on your sensor should work again.
Not sure how unplugging the ecu will check a thermistor...
Thermostat and CTS do work together, but not directly. The ecu uses logic based on ambient air temp on start up, engine temp, vehicle speed and load over time among other inputs to code for a bad t-stat. But if you have no t-stat code, p0146 IIRC, installed the new t- stat and ECT correctly(t- stat in the propper direction... not trying to be an ass) my GUESS would be something to do with the sc build. How recent has the sc build been done, any DTC's at all? If not, I would have it scanned to see which monitors have or have not run and post back.
