most of us bought the 2.2 mainly for A to B and for its fuel economy......so its likely that many of us arent going to drop money under the hood

Tax times coming up. So we will see what our Rich uncle sam can help us out with!

Keep in mind its right after the holidays still, so people arent so inclined to spend $$$ on their cars. But keep the faith. it should get interesting again in the not too distant future.

I'd actually like to hear about where Halfcent is on his project! Havent heard anything on that in quite some time!

YOu could help out by posting something crazy that you're doing to your car

If not, then just be patient. When you buy new relitivley new cars it takes a while for the aftermarket to catch up to it.
Yeah, the 2.2L ecotec is not a new engine, but placing it in the Cobalt and fabricating kits for it is going to take a while. Luckily, the engine has been tested before so the limits are known which wll take the guess work out of the process.
After this summer (or sooner), I expect a lot more interesting things to happen for the our engine but you just gotta be a little more patient.

Before you know it, you'll have more options for FI than you could wish for. Just a though... just a thought,...

You might want to consider the fact that we had any money we would'd bought an SS.

I'm getting there, I got horribly delayed when my first engine failed. Anyway, I'm about a week and a half away from getting it back from the shop, again. After that, it goes to Hahn for the kit.

Presently, the trans is done. The engine is getting a new Ferrea valve train to replace the Bates Engineering parts that failed in the first engine. I promise, I'll get it together really soon.

Preliminary numbers from Hahn on the kit are 325 HP on 93 octane pump gas, 475 using 110 race gas.

I want to keep it street legal and not break anything, so I won't be running the high octane stuff. I will probably upgrade my cams a little later which should help that 325 number grow a bit. The only other possible upgrades I could do would be 10:1 pistons, which I don't think I want to do, or a CNC p&p head.

Then you would basically be building the JIN tuner transformation car. It made 240 HP with a stock motor.

Yes. The Port Fueler for the Ecotec is a complete replacement of the stock intake manifold. It will be the side entry style manifold with welded runner tubes. The system is managed by the Greddy Profec B.
