Top Speed

Does anyone know the actual top speed of the 2.2L sedan? The fastest i've taken it was 115, but i know it can go faster. I've checked all over the internet and the top speed just isn't listed for this car.

There are multiple threads about this please search.

It's either 108 or 120 depending on trim

he's not asking what it cuts off at, he's wonder the true top speed, i get into 4th and it hits about 115 and cuts out, so if i could get into 5th and not have it cut out, i know it could do more like 130-135 i think

You shouldn't be taking an LS/LT 2.2 that fast anyways unless you have done serious modifications to the tires, suspension, and brakes.

Well I had Falken Ziex 512's, DC Front Strut bar, TQ Forward Rear Stabilizer, and Eibach Sportlines.

Guys with ss/sc's have gone loads faster with less mods

So that would mean GM has a way of setting the governor higher, how hard do you think it would be to get them to up mine. I know my rims and tires are z rated. Is that all they would look at?

I highly highly doubt a dealer would reflash yours because (a) they probably don't know how and (b) it is a huge liability to allow someone's car to go faster like that

I know there is a reflash they can do for the 2.4 for "competition" driving. I'm sure they could do it so long as they can find the right numbers or something.

that what i figure. I'll just wait and hope for tuning... lol i don't really need to go that fast anyway, so it might be a good thing that there is no tuning yet...

the 2.4 has tuning tho.... so either way they can get what they want out of the cars

i had the 112 rated tires and found my way around the limiter using the cruise control... I hit 115 on my way home going down I-95 but when I am... spiritedly driving... I cant go past 107 which is gay as hell.

it's so funny hearing this talk about trying to go 120mph and such. No kidding......My dad let me drive his ZO6 and I accidently went 135, no cars were around so I didn't feel like I was going that fast. If anyone has driven one, you would know what I mean.

what is it anyway with everyone wanting to have top-speed? I guess some guys have fun accelerating and other like big top-speed numbers.
