top speed doesn't mean anything at all..especially in a sedan i'd stay away from it. But my governer was taken off so i've taken it about 123 or so. i'm a coupe though. it probably takes miles for a sedan to get to that speed

Alright, first off, I'm calling bullshit on the removal of your gov.

And secondly, what makes you think that Sedans are inferior?

I'd glady race you for 500 dollars right now

call bullshit all you want..they had to redo my MAF because it was bad, and they forgot to put the governor on it( not sure how that happens, but i sat there for 3 hours waiting on them to tune it) and they had to make sure it was ok that they didn't put it back in(would take longer or some ****) i said it was fine.
Sedans are heavier.
and that wasn't to say sedans were inferior, it was to say that stock for stock a sedan 2.2 will get beat by a coupe 2.2
yes, i've raced at the track.
16.0 on my part, 16.7 on the gold sedan with cai and exhaust that raced me's part.
and both auto, no drivers race. both going from I-L-D wide open. same tires. no lost weight on either ones part.

i havent tested it yet, but from what i hear you can change the tire size at gm and it should allow you to go faster. friday i changed my tire size but i havent tryed to test it yet

with the tech 2 i had the options for 15 16 17 inch tires

15's are rated at what 115?
16's are what 120ish?
17's would be ss/na that goes what 130?

i changed it to 16's, it shouldnt affect the cluster because the cobalt is run off the tcm so if it alters the speedo to much i can change it back but im going to test it

I dunno really how it works on these cars but 9i thought the gonvernor was just computerized... so i don't see how they would forget to put it back in but to me this seems like BS

its a program which can be altered but what id like to figure out is what is the difference with the regular 2.2 and the sports upgrade or whatever its called. what module has a different programming? the ecm or bcm?

the bcm cannot be programmed, you go threw a list of what features it has and enable and disable them. my next trick is to do factory cruise control on it. im close on this on

The olny thing that possibly could make the sedan inferior is if it weighs more because of the extra doors. if it weighed 100 LBS more and a coupe could get to 130 MPH, the sedan should top out just a bit lower, maybe 129.5 MPH. If you are going that fast, does 1/2 MPH really make a differance? I think not.

And his mods more than make up for it being a sedan.

That doesn't mean jack. Plus, if you dont mind, I'd like to see slips that say you ran 16.00 stock, because that sounds VERY questionable.

The weight difference between a sedan and coupe is ~40lbs, so the difference between the two is about as much as a difference of whether who took a **** before a race.

I never said i was stock.
And 16.0 is extremely reasonable, the sedan wasn't stock either.

doesnt work...we have swapped a 140mph set of gauges into a 120 car...they are interchangable and have no effect on your speed limiter...tested...

OK, i got an '07 cobalt lt1 sedan 2.2L. Its auto and stock. My speedometer only goes up to 120. I was on the highway with no cars around going 115 my foot was not all the ways down on the accelerator so i know it could go faster. I slowed down b/c i saw a cop ahead of me. Btw whoever said it'll take miles to hit 115 with a stock cobalt, you're wrong, i hit it in way under 1 mile.

i've had a LS coupe up to 110 and after that it just died out

SS S/C on the other hand... try 145 lol. Doesn't even feel like it's going that fast. I almost shat myself when I looked down and saw the speedo.
