Tuning for an 07?

I know that tuning is doubtful, but is it only doubtful on the 05s and 06s? I kno that the 07 uses a different cpu, so is tuning more likely for an 07?

Last HPT said that it is feasible to conduct work on this E37 (I think that's the ECU designation, correct me if I am wrong). No ETA on release.

HPTuners basically said no to us wiht tuning the ECM its self ,BUT we do have standalone piggyback units that will be able to hold us off untill someone does make a tuning software work with the CAN-BUS style ECU.

Megasquirt (not sure on our cars)
AEM F/IC (works well but limited on Timing ADV.)

i am forgetting some so every one chime in and get the ones i didnt.

yes, if you have STANDALONE, there is NO WAY to tune the 07 ECM its self because it uses CAN-BUS and no one has released the coding to do it.

the layout and mapping of the software itself is not difficult to understand at all. And if you ever want to go back to stock you just simply unplug the unit and your ECM returns to stock.
