Tuning software

Is there a software I can purchase to fully customize my 2.2L ls or do I have to buy that stupid hand-held device.

I just want to do little things right now like remove the rev limiter and governor.

For $250 that can be done....

There's no real point though...I understand it's nice to be able to rev to redline rather than 4k only...it's cool, but it's not worth the money. What does it actually do for you though? Nothing.

For the governor...do you have a reason? This is an economy car that without proper upgrades in suspension/handling, tires, brakes, and driver mods, I wouldn't be driving this car anywhere near the governor.

Do you really need to be doing 100+ even? I mean I have hit 100 just a couple times in my car, no need for it at all. I haven't tried to hit the governor in this car and never will..mainly because of laws in MN pertaining to driving 26+ miles over the limit is an automatic revocation of the license. But really, you don't have any need to be going that fast in the first place...you have a stock or near stock car and don't really have any use for it.

Save yourself some money and forget about doing this UNTIL you decide to invest a few thousand in upgrades both suspension/handling and performance.

go for it. it the best investment I ever done.

-go with trifecta
-put your rpm 7500 and you will be able to finish ź in third gear.
-governor?? i guess it your top speed limiter. removed it and speed where it safe for police spot.
-some timing
-AFR adjustement

even you are stock you will love it.

but you wont be able to fully customize yourself. trifecta will.

Good point and taken into consideration. Although I would like to adjust things like AFR and auto tranny line pressure.

that's why i don't want to use trifecta because of the limits of adjustability and no i have an 08 cobalt ls. not an 07.

here a exemple. ''low fuel'' can be changed for ''need fuel''

i guess you will need more that a year of experience. trifecta is already know his business.

ls2edit is for 07+. trifecta is limited in the sense that you cant do the tuning yourself (yet), vince has to do it all and send you the flash file for you to flash. otherwise trifecta is a great way to go. I use it myself for my turbo setup.
