Damn the 2.2's seem to be pretty quick for what they have. There are some good kills in this thread that I would've never expected. Good job guys

 

when i had my 2.2 i never really raced anyone but i ran it at the track (3 runs) the best i could get was a 16.5. i was not expecting no where near that time

 

i think it has lots to do with having a manual transmission and a good amount of low end torque, not many street races last that long.

The only one I initiated was the honda EX. Only because I just got the car a week before and I wanted to see what she could do. After I beat the tacoma the guy looked at me, smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

 

I beat a bright yellow ugly cavalier with a body kit... last gen style... 5spd too

 

hmmm... its been a while since ive raced. maybe a week? i eat show civics with exhaust tips all the time here. all they have is rims, body kit and an exhaust tip. they think cuz they have that they are faster then me. i am also yellow haha so i get picked on. probably the only thing ive lost against so far was a grand am GT. that sucker was quick. ive beaten a 97 eclipse gs, an 03 cavy and a celica gts. i wonder how much hp gain ill get with my injen cai this Saturday woop woop!

ford f150 - this truck SMOKED me off the line, instantly like 6 car lenthgs... i caught up really quickly though, and never saw him again...

i killed what i think was an 04 or 05 sunfire. it was all show no go. i beat him off the line and kept half car to a whole car lead until this mustang cut me off lol. he had 18" rims, custom graphics, lowered suspension, catback, spoiler, and bodykit. when i pulled around he gave me the thumbs up for a good race. also 2 nights ago i ran into a 2.2 with the RK sport bodykit, custom candy blue paint job, rims, lowered suspension, catback and decals up the butt from like AEM, Injen, etc... he beat me off the line because i still have the stock continental's and it wouldnt want to grab. once they did i stayed up with him half a car length behind. once i get my new rims itll be different. 2 weeks ago i took on the civic si i think was like 03 or 04 couldnt really tell. it was the ugly hatchback one that looks like the ford focus hatchback hah! anyway he had lowered suspension, 18" rims, carbon fiber hood and a couple of decals like vtec and stuff. he shifted while i was still in 3rd gear and i started to pull away.

 

any balts in the houston area want to race?

 

god damn, i am so sick of hearing these jbody owners talk about how they figure they could beat a 2.2L cobalt cause they are so much lighter, its only 100 lbs for the 05 coupes.
way to go, it would have made it nicer if you had smoked his ass by a long shot.

I beat a im not sure what year but obviously newer Sentra Spec-V. The guy who I beat actually owns a SS now meet him at a meet here in Delaware haha he was surprised to learn that it was me that beat him. And honestly I thought those things were pushing about 185 hp??? maybe I was wrong.....He told me though he had intake and exhaust......which haha he did cause it was loud. but I was surprised i beat him....

 

my cobalt sedan 5speed with intake did a 15.7@88.07 at the track in Jan. with 70 degree weather....video is on streetfire...do a search for cobalt vs tc :-)
