why does this happen?
Trifecta can tune them to have launch control which really just sets a limiter in neutral at a certain number say 4k RPM. When did you get the car and has it always done this? Can you rev higher in gear?
its a failsafe built into the factory computer from GM. its to keep morons from constantly bouncing the car off the limiter, and then they come to the dealer crying that the motors junk
This is the first time I've ever seen this on a car. I know with my bike it won't let you rev until its warm to prevent you from running the engine cold. It'll actually shut off if you try enough. I don't try to rev anything in neutral though so that cold be why I've never seen this on the car.
in 2nd or 3rd gear it does go up to 5k or so. and the car is rebuilt. it was given to me with a small crack on it and from use it has gotten bigger and bigger LOL i actually am trying to get a new one
DO NOT DISABLE THIS. It's built into the factory computer to keep you from revving excessively when not moving. Why the hell would you need to go pas 4K RPM while at a stop? And also dont do that **** with a cold motor. You trying to break your car's motor? Think about this your trying to redline a motor with no air moving through the radiator to take away all the heat that build up as the motor get's warm. You will not get a long life out of that motor if you continue to do what your doing.
