Wiring Plug Behind Driverside Headlight

I found a wiring harness behind the drivers side head light. I dont have fog lights so I thought it was for the factory wiring harness. when I removed the plug and measured the voltage it has a constant 5vdc. with the car on or off. i dont think its for fog lights
N E 1 know what the hell it is for

Ambient air temp sensor probably?

Is it a green connector? When my cobalt was in the body shop they couldn't figure out what one two-terminal connector behind the driver's headlight was for. After I got it back the temp display on the DIC didn't work. They put in a new temp sensor and it worked fine afterwards. That's how we figured it out.

Does the connector plug into the headlight or is it somewhere else?

It wasnt a real plug, it was his temperature sensor for the DIC

sorry to revive such an old thread but this is the one that came up first in the search results and it's the most relevant. So my buddy and I were replacing my bumper on my 06 SS and upon reinstalling it we got to the headlight portion and since he was in charge of the driver side and I the passengers I didn't see where the green one plugged in initially and he forgot. Anyone know where it goes?

when I plugged mine back in there was really only one place for it to go behind the headlight.

I seem to have everything plugged into spots were there can be you things plugged into. The headlight, fog light, the washer fluid reservoir... I just don't see aharness at all. I know iit's the temp sensor though since my display is also the --- marking

Found the answer to the problem. The sensor is mounted on the black bracket that the headlight is mounted to. If you've removed this and looked for the sensor below it you won't find it (which is exactly what I was doing). For anyone else in the future who click this threads link from the google results here is a link to another post with detailed pics.
