WTF!!!! IS that NOISE

okay so i got a 2.0 SS SC downpipe put on my 2.2 it had to be welded on one end and bolted up to the stock header fine....and i had to have the 02 bung welded in and so njow when it like really cold i hear like a loud vibrating nosie when i start the car or turn the wheels...now this is only in the morning...any ideas?could it not be bolted to teh headers very well?

why did you have to get it welded? never heard of that before.

Could be hitting something underneath the car, either the sway bar or heatshield. best bet is to start it up, and take a look. You should be able to see what it's hitting.

just a thought.

the lsj flex pipe can break.

mine did.

it broke inside first and the sound changed, noticebly when cool.

then the outer part started splitting, over the weeks getting louder and louder.

the sound was like a leaking exhaust gasket somewhere and would go away when warm.

also a small rattle sound joined in soon after the original leaking sound.

well had to weld it because the bolts on the flange that connects to the rest of the exhaust were soo rusted and corodded (michigan winters+salts) that we they wouldent budge,,basically it had become fused together....BIG pain in the ass....yeah hmm i guess this weekend i will have to throw the car up on blocks and check it out..

mm it doesnt sound that bad tho IMO but this weekend for sure she is going up on the blocks....could i see where its broke from above??

mmm is there a best way to check and see if its broken or something like that...i have blocks that get the car a good 2 feet off the ground what should i bee looking for?

Get someone to put there foot over the exaust tip and look for the leak. Kinda shade tree but it'll work.
