Thumbs down YaY! Check Engine Light!

Okay...Today shortly after installing my brand new subs/amp (By shortly i mean a good 5 hours or so) my check engine light came on. I'm not quite sure what the problem is but I am almost certain it has nothing to do with the stereo in any way. The car still runs fine but i'm going to take it to the dealer in the morning just to be certain. I'll post updates as my situation progresses

When you disconnect the battery in these cars it trips a code.

The code is P0603 KAM (Keep Alive Memory) PCM error

If it is this code, it will go away if you just start your car and shut it off a couple of times.

I hope thats all it is...

if you installed a new head unit, it will trip the code. the factory head unit blelieve it or not controls a few things on the car. they are small and pointless, like the key chime, but with some emission standards the car wont pass with a check engine light on. so keep the old cd player. you might need it.

I've had the new head-unit in for about 2 weeks with no problems. It was only after I installed the subs and amp, after tomorrow i'll know what it is.

The stereo controls NOTHING. Unplug your stereo and the chimes still work! Stereo install places will try to charge you for a "device that makes the chimes work", what for if they work with the stereo unplugged? its a SCAM if you ask me.

I will have to agree with him on this one. I lost nothing except the steering wheel controls when I installed the aftermarket head-unit.

According to the dealership the light came on because of "the gas going into the new exhaust system" or something like that. Now I have to take it back to repair a chip (10 inch long split) on the driver's side windshield that I got 2 minutes after receiving it back from the dealer.

EDIT: Pics!

Actual Invoice
