ZZP on ION? :X

There isn't much info on the 2.2L on the saturn sites or the redline forums, and the eco is still alive on this site more so. So i was jsut wondering if the ZZP supercharger fits on the Saturn ion i don't have the redline, just an auto, coupe.

I had e-mailed them and they weren't completely sure.

I'm sure there are some mods that would have to be done and i only have an 04 so yeah.

If no one knows sorry for wasting space

save up for the stage 1 turbo kit from ZZP. for the 2.4L they have a 2.2L option and talk to Vince at Trifecta for tunning your 2.2L.

Turbo = less headache and bigger grin when the throttle is pressed.

everything should bolt up to the block, since it is an ecotec. i wouldnt see why the zzp intake wouldnt work, its not like its a cai. even if it didnt, you could probably use a redline cai.

I wouldnt bother, its an automatic. Save your money and get a car with the right number of pedal before you decide to mod it heavily.

Thanks guys, I think the problem with the supercharger was that they weren't sure if they could tune the 04. Something like that.

I'll have to look into the prices of that turbo, I wouldn't mind either. And I notice turbo is a G cheaper then supercharger?

It's a problem with the 2.2 ECU its different than the 2.4L or 2.0L.
Even with you being automatic I would suggest the turbo kit.
Don't listen to the guys who tell you to just buy a new car. Its your car and its your build.
There is something to be said for built not bought. Plus an auto with a turbo is a lot of fun

You need to look into a shift kit and a transmission cooler. Heat and clutch slipping is what kills automatics.
When I was into DSMs we would go by a cool down rule for autos. Means to run a pass then let the auto cool down.

Thanks for the encouragement redcomet. Yeah i had been reading up on that today also. Well, I need a new hood and was looking into the Ram air hood for my car, that'd help with cool right?

What is a good shift kit and will i be able to find one for my VTi CVT :X? I believe they are the VT20/25? not sure which one. And I will have to get vince to tune my tcm for the tran, alright makes sense.

But I don't know anything about the shift kits or the tranny cooler.
But I would like to do races eventually. So I'll go with the turbo. Thanks guys.
I edit my stuff alot cause i realize after I repeated myself or it was just to stupid question :X

So i found a universal tranny oil cooler by haynes? Heyanes? idk.

And i looked into it more and the shifter kit, i'm not hundred percent sure but if it's suppose make your gears shorter and shifter faster, wouldn't get the HP or Trifecta tune do the same thing?

i know upgrades to the tranny like new parts would help, but wear is inevitable either way then for me. And in theory if it is a CVT then it should be an optimal tranny for the build.

Looked into it. And talked to kevin from Speed mafia and he suggested the smt6. Which seems plausible. So i might still be thinking about this. I'm just still curious about my tunning of the VTi CVT ...It's still my only car so i don't want the tranny to explod one me.

So did my research and found somethings that were very interesting... The fact that cvts are prgrammed at the "best" rpms i have noticed that stepping on the gas the car won't go over 6500 or so i think. So even IF i upgraded the car in anyways catback, header, turbo, whatever the car would have to be reprogrammed and upgraded to withstand the power and to allow it.

http://www.off-road.com/atv/tech/cvt...ics-18812.html

Yes, this is an offroad forum for small atvs but still the same concept.

Apparently, as i found on a miata forum, CVTs only can take 5 to 15% more gain, before you trach em'. Even adding gains you might not see a difference because the Tranny isn't programmed for it. And currently no one tunes the vt20/25s because they were discontinued for unrealiability. Sucks, but it made my mind up.

Next car might be the Cobalt SS, or the G6.

Looks like my saturn ion will be more of a pimp experiment car.

thanks again everyone i have learned alot from my research, and info from everyone
