160 degree thermostat improve performance?

somebody told me that if i get a 160 thermostat, that i would increase horsepower, any ideas?

no...good operating temp is 180*

plus if your not tuned for the temp (like fan turn on) then it really doesnt help all that much

yes i heard about this. engine is coolder. on ź it can be a improve a 1/10 of a second, that is a exemple but if you were 14 flat, you could be 13,90.

hanson is correct... it will mostlikely not operate the way it wants to ( full potential) untill it reaches the right temp. older cars this was a big thing because there was no computers to monitor it.

correct. i think modified mag did a part on this. they said they lost 2whp on a miata
