Anyone else notice this...
Hello all, so I have a 2009 Cobalt LT. Only things I've done are super minor, K & N filter, 100lbs WR. Ofcourse the car is not "fast" however I notice the best acceleration is at the top of third gear...4500 rpm+. Never have I owned another car where the best/most rapid acceration isn't in a lower gear, traction limited ofcourse. Any thoughts?

Don't have that problem at all, first in mine is by far the fastest, I also have no traction control though. Is it a manual like mine?
Starts accelerating more around 2.5k and at 5k if it's wet I'll spin my wheel in first.

Yes it is a 5 spd, just seems like there isn't as much SOTP pull in first or second as compared to third gear. Tho I guess my "SOTP" meter could be off lol.

i have 5spd ss/sc, my 1st gear is over in a blink of an eye(3k rpm regular shift, 5k if on it, wheel spin, wheel spin, wheel spin) 2nd is my muscle(6k if on it, 70mph easy, dont fear torque steer) my 3rd pulls like my 2nd with what can best be described is a initial lag due to shift, after 3rd i dont really have anything left. Now if im doing 70 and i drop into 3rd, hella power up to 6k, into 4th i still have power till about 120, shift into fifth and im not gaining anymore speed
