Clutch and tune

Clutch and tune
Ever since I got my car the grab point for the clutch has been very close to the top of the petals range (say the last two or three inches it grabs). I've been wondering if it's wear or if it's a problem in the lines. My car only has 50k on it and it's a 09 ls XFE. I can't get it to slip it just seems it's engaging at an odd point. Think it might go soon?
Secondly if I had a catback exhaust and a cold air intake and took my car in for a tune what could I expect to see for HP increase over the stock 155 (I'm aware that's at the crank and not the wheels). Could I get 155 at the wheels and still get good MPG under normal driving? Would it be beneficial to tune for a higher octane?
Anyone know of a tuner around Buffalo NY (I see there are two trifecta tuners within an hours drive but neither are listed on this site as tuners).

I have the K&N Typhoon as well as a full cat back, Ark Grip N-II (not getting downpipe and header until I decide on a supercharger kit or turbo kit).
Have front koni struts on the way as well as a powell hardcore swaybar. I still have to get a tune, rear shocks, Powell springs V.3 (when their out) and if a used kit comes up at the right price I'll pick that up this summer. Would prefer a turbo but I saw a used zzp supercharger kit come up and sell for $1000 shipped.
