Yea youre right on that. Probably just have cutoff at 7500 and then shift at 7200 or maybe a tad higher.

Finally getting rod bearings tomorrow...dealer was slow on getting them in.

My head came back and looks AWESOME.

I thought it already had a ZZP auto trans? If it doesn't then you'll want that first because if you build your motor your trans is going to leave you stranded vs building trans which just helps its reliability.

Well had all 4 pistons in and then forgot about the spiral locks for the wrist pins. Went to reinstall and broke a ring on a piston, it got pinched from the shitty compressor i was using.

So 3 are in and torqued and getting a new ring set tuesday.

Yea im glad I caught it because the piston did go in but i saw a small piece by the top so I pulled it out. No cylinder wall damage

did you do all new gm main and rod bearings?

what'd you gap your piston rings to?

is that deal you got only on 2.2 rods/pistons or can a 2.4 get some lovin too?

Block wasnt taken out and crank stayed in. Original main bearings but new GM rod bearings.

Followed what wiseco said...they were within the spec. Ill look at what they were.

Give me some part numbers and ill run them by him to see what deal he can get. Pistons, rods, ARP studs?

Well I effed a head bolt so now im waiting on that. It didnt thread all the way and the nut screwed on the unthreaded part and lost its threading.

But the engine is timed, head is on, intake manifold on, and im finishing up the heat exchanger stuff and putting the bumper on.

looks good man! how was timing it with the vvt actuators? I've done a couple motors (not ecos) but never anything with vvt
